Please can we remind all parents whose children are due to start Reception in September 2026 that the deadline for Primary School applications in Cambridgeshire was on January 15th 2026.
If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, and you live in Cambridgeshire you need to apply for Reception for September 2026. Parents must apply via their local council's website, even for schools in other areas and even if they have missed the deadline.
Submitting after January 15th makes it much harder to get a place at a preferred school, as these are considered after on-time applicants.
National Offer Day for primary places is usually April 16, 2026.
We are currently looking for parents/carers to volunteer to join our committee and become trustees. If you want to help support the preschool and could spare a bit of your time then please speak to CC.
Even though attendance at Preschool is non-statutory it is important that your child attends regularly. We understand that sometimes they are ill or may have another authorised reason for absence but attending Preschool consistently is very important for their development. Preschool helps prepare them for school by forming key attachments outside the family unit.
If your child is going to be absent please call or email the Preschool as early as possible.
Please can we remind you that late collection of your child can cause them distress. If you are unavoidably late for any reason please ring us so we can explain to your child what is happening and avoid any unnecessary upset.
A late charge of £10 per ten minutes will incur for regular late collection.
We are now required to show a breakdown of all charges and costs to parents/carers and the pattern of hours in which parents/carers can take their funded entitlement.
Free entitlement hours - Eligible children can access 15 or 30 funded hours. Any hours booked above the funded entitlement are chargeable.
Please see below the details of the pattern of hours that parents/carers can take their funded hours -
If the child has 15 funded hours then they can take them in a manner of ways. For example daily in 3 hour sessions, meaning 5 days of either mornings (9am - 12noon) or afternoons (12noon - 3pm) or a mixture of the two, used for two full days (9am - 3pm) and one half Day (3 hour session) or one full day (9am - 3pm) and 3 half days (3 hour session). This is subject to availability. As long as the hours add up to 15 and are broken down into 3 hour sessions to allow suitable staffing. 30 funded hours would mean 5 days 9am - 3pm. Please speak to a member of staff if you are unsure. We are open Monday - Friday, 38 weeks per year.
Additional chargeable hours - We charge £15 per 3 hour session for children 3 years and over and £18 per 3 hour session for 2 year olds.
Meals/Snacks - We do not have the facilities to provide a hot meal for the children and therefore we ask parents/carers to provide them with a healthy packed lunch if they are at the preschool over the lunch period. Children are also offered snack time and we would appreciate it if parents/carers could help us by kindly bringing in healthy snack foods such as fruit, preferably on a Monday, for the week ahead.
Additional Voluntary Services - For example trips or specialist tuition would be charged on an ad hoc basis.
Consumables - We ask parents/carers to bring in their own nappies, wipes, nappy cream and sun cream but we can provide wipes and nappies if a child runs out. It is greatly appreciated if parents/carers could supply these items for their child especially if they want specific items used. Please speak to a member of staff if you are unsure on what to provide for your child.
