About The Seesaw Committee

We are a registered charity run by a Committee of volunteers, largely made up of members of the local community and parents of children who have attended the preschool. The Committee work in tandem with Seesaw staff to ensure the smooth running of the preschool.The Committee is responsible for supporting the senior staff in managing the preschool finances and personnel. They make sure that the preschool has, and works to, policies which help to provide a high quality service. They also help with fundraising. Seesaw depends greatly on the goodwill of parents/carers and their involvement with the preschool. Without the Committee the preschool would not be able to operate. Each volunteer member of the Committee bring different skills which are invaluable to the running of our preschool. Committee members work in various industries such as management, healthcare, clergy, finance and accountancy etc. Some, but not all, will have worked with children and others within the local community. We always welcome new volunteers and the important thing is that you don't need any direct experience to make a difference. There are three main roles on the Committee, the Chair, the Treasurer and the Secretary. These posts can have a more defined role, other duties may be shared amongst Committee members.We are currently looking for more trustees to join us and support our preschool so please get in touch.

Jo Brasher - Trustee (Chair)

"Hello, my name is Jo and I am Chairperson of Seesaw Preschool, a role I have held for many years.

My journey with the pre-school began in 2002 when my daughter first attended. Soon afterwards, I joined the team as a Pre-School Assistant and progressed over time to Acting Pre-School Manager before leaving in 2015.

Seesaw has always held a special place in my heart, which is why I chose to remain supporting the setting, staff and children even after changing professions some 8 years ago."

Debbie Hardingham - Trustee

"I have lived in Abbey ward all my life but recently moved to just outside Cambridge. I am married with 2 sons who both went to Seesaw Preschool. I got involved with the preschool as their treasurer back when my two boys were little, but gave this up when they moved to bigger school. I then got back in touch with Seesaw when the charity I worked for took over the management of them. I have been a trustee for the past 6 years and although this can be challenging I am very invested and interested in the future of the Preschool."

Stuart Wood - Trustee (Treasurer)

“I moved to Cambridge in 1996 having grown up in Bury St Edmunds. I started my working life as an Accountant, but left to train to work in Churches as a Youth worker, moving to Cambridge to take up that role. I have been the Minister at Barnwell Baptist Church since 2004. Alongside this, I have served as a Governor at Fen Ditton CP School and Marleigh Primary Academy (inc. being Chair of Governors for 5 years), I was part of the team that set up “Abbey People”, have been Chaplain at Cambridge United FC for 15 seasons, and am also chaplain to the East Anglian Air Ambulance (Cambridge base) and Peasgood & Skeates (Cambridge offices).

I have been involved with SeeSaw since John Durrant was taken sick at the end of 2018 and sadly passed away in 2019.

I’m married with 4 grown up sons.”

Marco Ferrari - Trustee

"My name is Marco and I 've been living in Cambridge since 2016 and I work as a credit controller.

I decided to become a Trustee at Seesaw Pre-school CIO to contribute as a Charity Treasurer by using my financial Knowledge and experience."

The role of Secretary to the Trustees is undertaken by Seesaws Finance Administrator, Christine Heron.
